| This cacti has the two points on the end of the last stem. I have heard it called crab something. Always thought it was an Easter one,but I guess not, as it is blooming now. |

| we call it a christmas cactus ... see link.. flip to SEARCH side to find the latin ... nearly indestructible.. it like to be very dry ... and just about any piece broken off.. can be stuck into media.. and rooted .... and it blooms this time of year.. as the sun declines ... or can be manipulated into blooming at Easter ... ken |

| Elaineal, Thanksgiving cactus is often called crab cactus, for obvious reasons (if you've ever seen a crab) . It's native to the rain forests of Brazil. Xmas and Easter cacti are different plants, though rain forest species, as well. All of these different cacti can be identified by the appearance of their stem segments, called phyllocades. Yours is a beauty! |
