| My husband's friend recently gave me a number of air plants, but was unable to tell me what species they are.
Can anyone help me identify them. The photo attached is one but from what i can tell he gave me 5 or 6 different species. If anyone could give me even a clue as to what they could be perhaps i could email pics of the rest to you. Thanks in advance for any help. I have no idea where to even begin to identify them lol. |

| It may be Tillandsia cyanea, but since there are no blooms it is harder to ID. |
Here is a link that might be useful: Tillandsia photos

| Did you know that there's a Bromiliad Forum here in the Gardenweb? I believe that it stays reasonably active and there are some great experts over there. There's nothing wrong about posting in both of these forums. |

| Thanks both. I will check out the Bromiliad forum thanks, didn't stumble into it yet but now i know i'll find it. Costaricafinca, i was worried that it would need flowers for a clear identification, will just have to keep my fingers crossed that i manage to care for them well enough to get a bloom in the future. |

| I have a very good book on Bromeliads, but it is still packed in a box....somewhere since a recent move! They are easy to care for, if you keep them in the right conditions, but a dry house is not 'perfect' |

| We live in malaysia so i worry about the sun outside. We just moved into our house so haven't figured out the shady spots yet. I have some spanish moss doing fine outside but a bit worried about these ones. Doing once a week baths and twice a day heavy misting (until they drip) but still see some of the ends going brown. |

| Where we live in Costa Rica we get an extended dry season, and the bromeliads do survive in full sun. Can you display them on a covered porch? Or even in a bathroom? The leaves may dry up and eventually fall off but new one will replace then. |
