i would like to know if you can take the babys off the plant and just put them down in dirt so they will grow mine seem to turn brown once planted and die off how much water the best light and do you fertilize and if so whay kind

best way to do that is to put the babies in the soil around the plant, while still connected to the plant, give them 2 weeks, and cut them off the mother and replant. Spider plants have very large fleshy roots, so if you leave the babies in, they will provide more competition for water with your mother plant. good luck
