What kinda plant is this?

My friend has this plant, she's going to give me a baby one, as seen in the pic. We have both googled and googled and can't find out anything about it!! She says it has black lines on the leaves and it makes a popping sound and seed fly out. Help please! Sorry the picture isn't so great, she's not good with a camera lol.
