Willow shrub?

Posted by sam03v none (My Page) on

This is my first post. I've got this shrub/ bush in my front yard (the large omne in the pic) and I'd like to propagate it since it seems to grow so well. It has little yellow flowers for a short time in the spring and other than that it looks like the picture year round.

Anyone know what it is? Any tips on how I can propagate it?

Thanks in advance,

RE: Willow shrub?

It would be helpful to know your location.
From your description of yellow flowers, I guess it may be Siberian peashrub, Caragana arborescens. The link below shows images of it. There are weeping forms and upright forms.

Here is a link that might be useful: Caragana

RE: Willow shrub?

with weeping plants like this.. often... if you crawl under there.. you might find some older branches having rooted in ...

if so.. its already propagated

RE: Willow shrub?

OP's user-page says North Florida, zone 8, and since he registered yesterday, I imagine he's still there....

RE: Willow shrub?

Yeah, I'm in Tallahassee which is zone 8.

Primrose jasmine

Here is a link that might be useful: Jasminum mesnyi

RE: Willow shrub?

I second the jasmine id. There will almost certainly be rooted stems in under it as Ken suggests.

RE: Willow shrub?

Definitely primrose jasmine. I have this in my yard and it's a monster!
