Fertile pure white rose of Sharon

Unfortunately I can't seem to find the photo of this one (will update if it turns up). When I first set eyes on it, I had automatically expected that like all the other pure whites I've encountered, it would be sterile. I have been looking for a fertile pure white variety to start from seed and after years of fondling empty pods I finally came across one. It is growing in a public area so getting a definite ID is pretty improbable. I happened back across it the other day and low and behold, it was covered in fat fertile pods. So, now that I have snagged a few, I am hoping to determine what she might be called. Appreciate your help!
