Asclepias sp?

Hello.
Found this growing on the roadside in W. NC mtns. It's not a syriaca or tuberosa.....could someone tell me what it might be?
It had one viable pod which I removed because milkweed beetles were eating into it. I did not see the flowers. The area it was growing in was a damp, "creeky" roadside.
