Hi, does anyone know what this could be. The leaves can be palm size. It's very common in local fields.

Fallopia japonica perhaps?

You might want to contact the local council about it. It's an invasive species in the UK with strict rules on disposal, sale and movement. Whatever you do, don't transplant any to your garden.

I have a fallopia japonica variegata 'Reynoutria' (I think I got that right; nomenclature is sketchy) that's supposedly non-invasive, at least I hope not. It has really nice foliage and an open, airy habit.
