Which osmanthus species?

This osmanthus is growing in zone 7a, in Bethesda, MD.

I can only guess Osmanthus armatus, but I'm only going by what I've read. I don't know of any that are bigger leafed than this one that grow here.

These large bushes are about 8 or 9 feet tall and wider than that.

The leaves are more or less spiny. They are variable. Leaves are 3 to 5 inches long. They are arranged opposite each other on the branches.

Photo was taken in October and plant was blooming.

Could this be O. armatus?
