| I admittedly got a bit preoccupied photographing the caterpillar and forgot to take further pics of the plant (will post a follow-up with the best one I have showing the plant form). Hopefully these will be good enough for an ID. So far what I have found seems to point to Aster Doellingeria umbellata, however, knowing how huge the family is, I thought I'd see if anyone here could help in confirming that. Plants stood about 4 feet in height when photo was taken in the first week of September here in zone 5/New York. Nearby there were other species of asters, including a mislabeled New England Aster (incorrectly labeled A. linarifolius). Thanks for any help! |
