Juniper, maybe native.

if you were in MI.. i would say J virginiana ... eastern red cedar ...

i presume there is a western version ... though it doesnt look like plicata ....

for me.. Jv is basically invasive ... down south ... their version is a production crop ...

if you cant get beyond guesses here.. you might try the conifer forum ...

if its a rogue seedling .. in a hedge row.. then its no better than J.v. ... IMHO ... birds are the culprit ... stoned on the sweet taste of gin ... lol ...

Has anyone tried eating any Eastern Red Cedar berries, btw? They say they are used sparingly in cooking and to flavor gin?
