#2 - Pretty positive it's northern sea oats unless there's anything else with those kind of flat seedheads.

#3 - This one was a beautiful soft red - loved it.

Last one is Schizachyrium scoparium. First might be a Setaria sp.

The first one reminds me of Setaria (Foxtail). The second is similar to our Chasmanthium latifolium (Broad-leaf Wood Oats). The third looks a bit like Schizachyrium scoparium (Little Bluestem). Grasses, though, are tough to ID from photos.

#4 - last one for now, all the rest look dead and the same to me. Is there any better way to id grasses if not from photos?

No clue on the last one. Even genus can be difficult to determine without close photos of the spikelets, etc. And for species level, a good lens or dissecting microscope is necessary.

Glad to see that somebody else likes the grasses too. They are very interesting if you can avoid the snakes, chiggers, and ticks :>)

Perhaps Koeleria macrantha for the most recent one posted, assuming some of these were planted because they are native prairie grasses.

assuming that the stuff was planted in the park, (and just following my first impression and gardener`s gut feeling)
# 4 cold be feather reed grass, Calamagrostis x acutiflora Karl Foerster. It is a cold season grass, a sterile garden hybrid, in full sun non flopping and emerges far earlier than prairie species.
That specimen looks somewhat starved though.
