Lost tag, forgot name!

About 7 years ago I purchased this bush from my local nursery. I recall it was described as '(an Australian) rainforest bushy-shrub' It has very insignificant small pink flowers hanging in clusters on short tassel-like stems. New growth is pink, leaves in fact remind me a little of those of some syzygiums (lilly-pillies)or even camellias. Tropic to sub-tropic habitat I'm almost certain. I'd like to re-label it so any suggestions very welcome. See (2) pics.

Bloody 'ell, has nobody got a clue? 4 days ago I posted this and nothing! Saltcedar or Garden Guru, or any of my old antagonists; no idea? Have a guess then, a stab in the dark, you might hit the nail on the head (old antipodeon saying).

Regards
Bill (funnelweb).

Howdy Funnelweb, gee you posted a toughie here mate. Judging from the normally volumous responses in here there are a lot of quiet people out there. Anyway, I'll take a part of a stab at it -- don't know exactly what the plant is but I'll wager that it's in Euphorbiaceae. I'm still trying to work it out and will post again later if I get lucky.

Well, here's my stab at it...simply plugged in "Australian rainforest bushy-shrub" in Google and it was the second one listed...Astromyrtus floribunda??? (Commonly called Cape Ironwood.)

Hope this helps.

No doubt about ya Salty, you don't spend all your time searching and seeking for nothing, ay! I think you've got it, I went and checked it in Google and in my 5th edition of Aussie Native Plants and yep, I reckon that's it. Beside, the name also rings a bell from years ago.
Good one, thanks Salt C.

Tedhort and tulsarose. Sorry, I forgot to thank you for your responses. Ted, the family Euphorbiaceae is certainly where phyllanthus lies, and Rosie (Tulsarose, love that name) after looking at the link you so knidly provided I'm almost inclined to say yep, no doubt. The picture is almost identical I reckon, flower and leaf-wise anyway, to the one in the pic I provided, except the tinge of pink is missing in both flower and new-leaf growth. I'd almost reckon they were in the same family, however, a check of the leaf arrangement on the stems shows my plant has an alternate leaf arrangement, whereas, from what I can determine, Alstromyrtus has opposite leaves, and for that (and probably other) reasons belongs to the family myrtaceae. So, because of the distinct pink tinge in both leaf and flower, I reckon Saltcedar's suggestion of Phyllanthus is nearer the mark. Thank you all.
