Looks a little more like a passionfruit seedling to me

It's funny... I bought a couple of full grown passion fruit plants 2 months ago, right after not been able to get them going from cuttings & seeds for a more than a year. Now, unexpected from the ground, this passion shows up in a perfect spot.

The leaves on my passions are so different that I would have never guess it. How long will it take before the leaves on this seedling look like my others passion vine leaves?

Well, if it IS a passionfruit then it depends on the type as not all have similar leaves. But of the edible variety and assuming yours has come courtesy of a seed in compost or a bird dropping - they usually start to get the more familiar shaped leaves once the plant shows evidence of becoming a twiner - so probably at about 12 inches or so in height.

All citrus foliage smells strongly of citrus when rubbed between the fingers.

That seedling's leaves have alternate veins -- except for the two opposite veins which branch right from the petiole. I certainly can't claim to know all citrus types, but my three indoor citrus (two lemons and a clementine) lack such veins.

If that's a passion fruit which will eventually have 3-lobed mature leaves, those two opposite veins are certainly in the right place.

Now, unexpected from the ground, this passion shows up in a perfect spot.

i googled this plant.. it has monster potential ... ....

in the next year or two ... is the time to find a better spot ...

or i am wrong .. and will be corrected ... perhaps the fruit form peeps will know .. if no one here????
