It may be Baccharis .

Thanks missing, my location is there and has been since 2000 last I changed it (yikes!). Perhaps there is a display quirk in GW's software that makes it come and go.

Thanks carol23, but the baccharis around here has small leaves, the mystery plant's leaves are at least 2" long. Also the plant is not woody.
