Disney World plant

We just got back from Disney and they had a plant there that they widely used in their planters, often combined with poinsettias for a red/green/white look. It reminded me of a giant chlorophytum bichetii, including the small flowering stems with insignificant blooms.

I will try to include the best closeup of the blooms I could get since they are small. The bloom will be in a second post since I can only attach one at a time.

Any ideas?

Dianella tasmanica 'Variegata'.

Bingo! Carol nailed it...thanks very much!

I guess it's only hardy to zone 8, so that's why I haven't seen it in my neighborhood. A neat plant!

More like USDA 9, I imagine - I wouldn't expect this to persist up here. The genus is sometimes sold and planted, but is not seen repeatedly as a lasting feature - unlike phormiums, which are all over the place despite occasional hardiness issues.
