Name That Plant!

What it this plant that has appeared suddenly in my lawn?

Hi - I need a name for this plant that has sprung up within the last couple of months near my roses it is approx 1 &1/2ft high no prickles, glossy leaves and red stem -but it starting to become multi stemmed? Any ideas as to what it is? Thank you

i am no pro at this game [in other words i use no science.. lol ]..

but i have seen something close to that.. and i swear they are crabapple seedlings ...

which probably arent far from apple seedlings ...

which probably arent far from any prunus seedling ....

any such things around????

Thanks for your reply Ken. It is about a metre away from my plum tree so you sound right and the link photos sure look like it. I am going to move it and plant it and see what happens, maybe crab apples in the future??

It's not a crabapple. It's a plum tree sucker. (Not seedling) It will be coming from the plum root stock so will not produce plums like the ones on the tree.
