Begonia-ish???

Please help me identify this plant, I've been trying to do so for a few years now. It is located in a green house at Smith College, however it doesn't have a tag beside it. it is in a humid part of the green house with tree ferns growing next to it.

It looks like a begonia, but the picture here shows it producing seeds which look almost exactly like dandelion seeds (these puffs in the image are not flowers but clumps of seeds which can be blown away by the wind). This makes me wonder if it is actually a begonia at all??

I have some seeds with me that I am hoping to sprout. I tried a leaf cutting a couple of years ago with no success. any clues would be appreciated!

Perhaps it's Farfugium japonicum 'Aureomaculatum'.

Here is a link that might be useful: Farfugium
