Upwords CD game runs on Vista!

Waaay off topic, but I just discovered this. I'd love to post it generally on the 'net, but don't know how to go about that (any techies out there?).

This was my favorite PC game when I had Windows 98. As I upgraded my operating system (Win ME, then 2000, then XP), I discovered that the game wouldn't run on any of these OS's.

Just upgraded to Windows Vista Home Premium and decided to pop the CD in just for the heck of it. I set the game's .exe file compatibility to Win98 and it works just like the original!

A truly addictive game and brain-stretcher. Yay!

Just got a new computer with Vista on it, and I'm truly surprised you are having success with it.

Half of the 'Vista ready' hardware doesn't work because of poor driver support (and more)...including my wireless card.

Entertainingly enough, I decided it wasn't worth sending back the 'top or dealing with a wired connection and flipped the entire disk over to FreeBSD...which doesn't have a problem with my wireless card. I find it really funny that a UNIX system is pre-equipped and a more commonly used OS isn't.

Glad to see Vista isn't all horror. :)
