Pet recovery services

Hey, I thought I'd mention that one of my dogs decided to test his "homing" service last week when he got "captured" as an escapee.

The person who found him tried to call me, and when he couldn't get me, called the 800 number of the animal rescue service (he has a dog tag with this number and his ID number). The service works.

I had this dog micro-chipped about 4 years ago, and had completely forgotten about the dog tag with the 800 number, that could be used if the dog had a collar and tags. He's also tattooed, but that number becomes too hard to read quickly.

So, should anyone be wondering, it was money well spent. I think the chip, having it embedded, and having my name, address and phone number recorded cost all of $50. Or don't forget to update your info, if you have already registered your pets with a service.
