    Brooke

only 3 kinds of people hate the BBQ

    soulless evil demons
    communists
and people who have no sense of taste

heck i bet that even Ann Coulture likes BBQ

and apparently from what state you're registered in you're quite the anomaly.

    but besides the point

BBQ in my opinion is one of the saving graces of humanity.
and is one of the few thing that can bring together large amounts of people in a happy atmosphere

I'm not saying that you're any of the above, but really hate is such a strong word. especially for some thing that tastes good and smells great.

Thanks Gaston - you are as good at insulting people as the infamous _gee was - good job!

Gaston, that site's hysterical. The "Barby Q Porn" is funny all by itself. DH is a great cook and is extra creative when he gets around a grill.

Brooke, what is it about BBQ that you hate?

Shady, how does one become a judge? DH is on a chat list w/ lots of Southern guys, and if some of them lived near each other, they'd have fist fights over who's got the best BBQ. :)

WC8 I actually don't hate BBQ nor do I hate porn. The thread sat there for six weeks and I thought it was time to move on. I was tired of seeing the topic every time I clicked on conversations. I figured since no one else commented yea or nea on either of the key words - time to bump.

Obviously I insulted Gaston but I enjoyed his random thoughts of me. I can only judge people on the 'net by their words...........and how they are written.

Now that the thread is active, everyone needs to share their favorite BBQ receipe and their favorite porn.

Brooke although you read to deeply into the list i still found it an odd comment.

regardless how ever i apologize if you took my typing personally. i was neither comparing you to the list nor Mrs. Coulter.

now, with that said i retain my comment on your state of registration and you're original statement of disliking bbq as I've come to know and learn, bbq is quite serious in some parts of KY and other regions in the south east.

as far as being a creative insulter gee and my self are on two separate levels, and for proof all i have to say is, obviously you weren't around on this forum during the great flame wars of 05-06 when Mr.Lance Birk was on the prowl attempting to add insult left and right to newb's and pro's alike.

I more then likely unlike gee lack the ability to take criticism to heart, but then i guess, being a Vet and also an graphic designer, i have some what of an advantage over a great deal of people

and please, next time read more carefully because i never said "you are" and also stated:

"I'm not saying that you're any of the above, but really hate is such a strong word. especially for some thing that tastes good and smells great."

you made it on your own prerogative to consider what i typed an insult

so once again i hope you will accept my apologies

Ain't much better than a pulled pork sandwich (or salad as I can get it around here...a huge scoop of pulled pork over salad. I don't really like bread that much).

    Pulled pork counts, Gaston, right?

MMM, my last order lasted 3 separate salads...

pulled pork counts doubly in my book tasty as tasty can be, and in reality i've never been a fan of pork. though this is one of three exceptions , lol

Whatever happened to Lance Birk? I remember that fiasco...

I was one of those who pre-paid for the book that was canceled, reportedly due to the loss of all of the photos. Despite repeated attempts to get my $$ back, I was largely ignored. Then someone mysteriously contacted me and asked about my experience over me prepaying for the book that I had complained online about in a number of forums. Oddly someone from the same city Lance lived in... Once I explained how I had (and I truly had) reported Lance to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (http://www.ic3.gov/), suddenly a check arrived in the mail.

    Spooky...

The book was ultimately sold as chapter and whole book purchasable PDFs, but I never did even go there.

Ha!- Carolyn, now I remember it was you who got rooked. Actually there were a few people weren't there? So you got your money back? I remember him as the 'high & mighty' expert who ticked everyone off.

That was during my 'banned' days. I guess it saved me money. Suppose I should thank Spike...

Actually his book is out now and is quite good in most aspects regarding location, requirements, etc. His personality does come through in some instances but we bought it for the references, not his personality.

I remember when he posted here and wasn't going to get the book but hubby insisted. I'm glad we did. The only time we pre-order something is through a book store. Glad you eventually got your money back Caroline.

    Brooke,

Is it available as paper? I see the audio book is available on his web site. I was really interested in it for the adventure stories, and was very disappointed when it didn't materialize. It's just too bad that the customer service aspect was so bad.

But it sounds like you are talking about a different one than 'The Last Orchid Hunter'? I have his paph book.

Oooops, yup, memory cell was not awake yet this a.m. It is the Paph book I was thinking of, not his novel "novel".

Carolyn, that's great that you finally got your money back. What a hassle. Maybe it'll be available through book stores at some point.
