Wanted....One huge cat box!

Found these cougar signs yesterday, while hiking my irrigation ditch!

Sorta' explains why I tend to go around armed!

(Although, I wasn't this time!)

I should've included something for size perspective, 'cause that's one big kitty!

I'm goin' back for spring flower photos within a day or so.

I found native Fritilaria and many others that I've never seen before!! :~)

I did obviously have my camera, but had just a basic lens and no tripod. :~(

I do NOT want to be in charge of cleaning that box... my itty bitty kitty's box is bad enough : )

Now, listen here, Scott Whatever-Your-Middle-Name-Is and Whatever-Your-Last-Name-Is (in the South, you're addressed this way when the speaker is putting you on notice to listen up and pay attention),

    ARM YOURSELF!

Cougars are nothing to mess around with.

    Humph! Whitecat8

    Hmmm...

    LIST:

    Backhoe check!
    Ruger Mini-14 .223 rifle check!
    (That's it circled!)

Actually 90% of the time I'm working alone, but I'm always armed.
I've been working and clearing the ditch, off and on, for a very long time.
Large parts are more like a creek than a ditch, but the mess was so bad that you couldn't even find it.
Between blackberries and downed trees...you have to almost guess.
The hard core work has been going on since last Aug, with down time for repairs.
(For both the Backhoe and me!)
The ditch goes for many miles and no one has maintained it for years.
The amount of huge downed trees that I've had to cut and haul out, has really worn me to the bone.
That's pretty much why my time here is erratic, at best!

I don't even walk out to the back fields w/o it and extra clips.
We're the only ones that haven't lost cows or equines to them.
Lots of sheep, but we have too many anyway! ;~)

I spend a lot of time alone at night out at some of the ponds getting fish food.
It's right there, against the Jeep, within arms reach!
    Or, strapped to my back!
I'm generally commin' in around dark-thirty or later and always pay careful attentions to what's goin' on.
Local wildlife can always let you know what's up, if you pay attention to them.
It's that deathly silence that makes me spooky!
I know that everything is hiding, but me.
I pretty much leave at that point! ;~)

    Thanks for your concern!
    Scott

    BTW...
    Scott is my middle name!:~)

Scott, good to hear that your firearm is usually with you.

    "BTW...
    Scott is my middle name!:~)"

    Mine, too!

You're a patient man to restore that ditch. Is it a lifelong project? Is there an end in sight?

Yeah, I've heard that "everything gets 'dead' silent" sound, although in my part of the South, it wasn't likely caused by a big cat. Eerie, anyway.

Oh - would you mind taking a look at my thread on the discussion side about my Cyc herrenhusanum growth? It'd be good to have your take on it.

Take care & thanks, White Scott Cat8
