Bigger Freaks Than Us

Wow. I am completely floored. I eBayed some of my sister's Barbie dolls that have been in a closet for the last 25 years. My GF split everything up into 20 lots and we made a remarkable amount of money. One of the auctions was for three outfits. And they sold for over $197. Three, doll outfits! OMG!! I thought we orchid lovers were just about the pinnacle of frothy mouthed, out of control fanatics.... I stand corrected! :)

Gosh, for $197 dollar those skirts better bloom or else! Just kidding, but for that price I would expect vintage Chanel on a price-per-inch basis.

I always wonder if people buy stuff like that thinking they're making an investment or if they're just really into having all the related stuff they can. Collecting doesn't make a lot of sense to me. A guest at my home once was going on about I-forget-what that he was way into collecting and then actually asked "So, what do you collect?" Whaaaa? Experiences, I guess :)
