I didn't know this about thrips...

I'm taking an entomology class this semester and am collecting bugs for it. I was researching thrips and found this excerpt about thrips on Wiki:

'Thrips are commonly known to invade modern LCD monitors and LCD televisions [1]. Once in there, there is little you can do to get the bugs out again without dismantling the screens which may void the warranty. Unfortunately, no efficient debugger has been made so far, however, some suggest that spraying equipment with Deet proves effective[citation needed].

One possible way to evacuate thrips from a display is to turn the light on in the room, turn off the monitor and hope they are attracted out again if they are still alive. It may also be possible to get your monitor or TV replaced under warranty as it is a production failure not to seal the gap between the TFT and backlight panels.'

I thought it was really bizarre.
