I don't know about the sour cream on top though- that sounds a little too "new world" for me.

Speaking of cranberries- at a holiday party I had frozen fresh cranberries covered in white chocolate. They were awesome!!

Oh, I just top mine with maple syrup. Never been a big fan of the Belgian school of waffling. No cream, no fruit.

Those cranberries sound good! Were they served still frozen?

Yep- still frozen, so when you bit into them they were kind of 'crispy'. You had the sweetness of the chocolate first and then you bit into the tart cranberry that was still cold- really wonderful.

I make magic bars with cranberry. You make them the regular way, but you sprinkle the top with fresh (or frozen, I buy lots this time of year so I can use them year round), then pop them in the oven. I usually put on the condensed milk last so it holds the whole mess together. The tartness of the cranberries helps cut the sweetness of the condensed milk and is heavenly with the chocolate. A friend of mine was a baker (we called him "Downhill Joe") and he came up with this. I've made them this way ever since.

I'll have to scrounge out some of my other pumpkin recipies....and other goodies. We needed a new recipe thread anyway. Good going Mark!
