HAVE: Epidendrum falcata

One large leaf with its own roots and one flower. It must have separated from the mother plant and can be a starter for someone.

I'm glad you got it ID'd and from the description in the link below, it sounds just like what your plant did.

BTW, it is Epi. falcatum, not falcata.

That description is right on. Paul Gripp at SBOE told me that they dropped a falcatum once and it shattered like a crystal glass. Every leaf separated and they made new plants from them all. The flower as described every where else is pure white. Mine is white and so are some I saw in bloom Saturday.
