| sorry, I meant I have it to trade...
--------------------------------- This is a longshot, but if anyone wants one, they're welcome to mine. I'm open to whatever you have. Mini catts, tolumnia would be more than cool. It's an onc intergeneric, blooms on every new growth, which means every few months, if grown well, of course. I think it's pleasantly fragrant. (be quiet, gin.) full plant in 4" pot. Doesn't need too much light, phal light at best. can handle drying out, as most onc's. I just don't have space for it at the moment. intermediate grower. bada |

| WHY would anyone want such a common orchid? I just had to give you some grief. |
| i was going to say, i have one you could have. kevin b |
| ye gads...thanks for helping me out, l...grrr... actually, it's a great beginner orchid! will take non-orchids. thanks- bada |
| I was going to give you grief about having such a "big" orchid in your collection, but I see that others have beat me to it. I see you just couldn't resist the lure of Trader Joes, lol!! -Mimi |
| kevin, I guess you posted at the same time I did...anyways, grrrrrr... mimi, unfortunately, it wasn't from trader joe's. maybe I should pop by and really show you what I've gotten from trader joe's...*mean look*... bada |
| Geez, can some one trade with poor Bada. Poor thing... I would do it but remember I am a warm grower, *cough* *cough* got to go drink some water. Good luck Bada!!!! |
| Hehehehee I think you are going to have to change your nick or you are going to get grief and no trades. Hey Kevin, did i give you that 'hawaiian sunset, or did I kill mine? I came on line to find "Alice's Restaurant" to play. I forgot to listen for my Thanksgiving anthem on Thursday. I can't believe I let you guys side track me. You're all a bunch of heathens. Oh, keep this quiet, real quiet, I think I have a spike on my one remaining stan. Don't cheer too loud, it's apt to blast. |
| Gee, I might've wanted it for my Mom who is an orchid newbie. She'd appreciate a frequent bloomer. But I don't think I could take this kind of abuse, even by association. I'm almost too embarassed to admit interest on her behalf. (Laura- Shhh, but what kind of stan?) Carolyn |
| lol. People do sell these things, so there are people who like them. Saw some the other day, in fact. And if you have enough spikes flowering en masse, it might just look like a hawaiian sunset, and we all know hawaiian sunsets are gorgeous. |

| ....geez, exactly how hard is it to grow it? I've never heard of it but I guess it's soppose to be common? |
| I'm almost too embarassed to admit interest on her behalf wow, didn't know you could be so brutal, carolyn. haha...course, I knew about laura... thank you, komi. (am I just thanking her for being nice? hmmmm...) lady, well, it's very easy, considering that one can grow oncidium intergeneric hybrids...like oncidium sharry baby, oncidium twinkle, colmanaras (sp?), miltoniopsis aka pansy orchids, burreagas...etc. don't need too much light, around phal maybe higher would get more spikes, lots of water but can dry out quite a bit without problems (but be careful, too little water = the dreaded accordion leaves syndrome), and high humidity isn't needed, like, at all. Hawaiian sunset is a hybrid of two shots Miltonia warscewiczii and one shot oncidium cheiropherum; the miltonia w is a strong bloomer, the cheiro is a miniature and reduces the size. It's an improved hybrid from Miltonidium Pupukea sunset, which is just one shot of each above mentioned species. It was quite a well known hybrid because it blooms all the time with neglect, much like sharry baby, however these flowers have rich tones of yellows, oranges, reds, browns...and yes, as komi mentions, when mult-spiked, it can be quite gorgeous. I just don't have the space to cultivate it to that size. well, that's all the info anyone would ever need about that one... bada |
| Aw, bada, I meant that I was embarrassed to show interest and open myself up to the abuse from them. If LadyBuggyz has no interest, I'm sure Mom would like it, but I have very little to trade. About all I have is some seedlings clumps of Bifrenaria harrisoniae 'Imposter' x 'Majus', a nice size, but probably not even NBS. I could send a pic. I could also throw in a clump of 2-3 very small seedlings of Cattleya aurantiaca 'Jean' AM/AOS x 'Plov'. Carolyn |
| You forgot to mention, they don't like temps over 50 degrees. |
| laura, puleeez! thanks cbarry, sure your mom would like it? Don't need to off offer out of pity for me...:0) I would love it to go to a newbie that would really like it...but sure, even just one seedling would be great of that bifrenaria. Let's see if there would be anyone else remotely interested, if not maybe we can think about spring? I'm sure I can dredge up other little interesting things to send you as well... bada |
| Hey bada- just let me know- and if you have more interesting stuff, I have more interesting stuff to trade too, for things other than this fellow ;) carolyn |

| It sounds really nice! :) I'll keep my eye out for this at Trader Joes....thank you much for all that info! :) |
| doh! bada |
| bada- so you want to wait until spring for this trade? I don't believe that you really want to give it up. I think that you reconsidered, that you love it, and that you don't want to trade it to my newbie Mom. [sigh] She'll understand. :p |
| Hi bada... I'm a newbie, and I have to admid I don't really have much luck with my 1 oncidium that I have, it is healthy but refuse to bloom again. But if yours is an easy grower, and if Carolyn changes her mind, I would love to "adopt" it. Now, I really don't have much to trade, but here's something! When I had question about how to grow CISCHWEINFIA dasyandra, you were "making fun" of me, because I was a newbie and try to take on something difficult to grow! But guess what? I got it to bloom, and it's still doing very well! Cut to the chase, I don't have much that is precious to offer you, but I have the CISCHWEINFIA dasyandra if you are interested! lol... cat80 |
| cat80- It's all yours! If you can get bada to give it up ;) Carolyn |
| Thanks Carolyn, truly appreciate your kindness... but, I think I kinda agree with you... Bada is probably just teasing us, right? why wait until spring to trade with you??? Bada, are you out there??? lol... cat80 |
| I still want to hear the story of how you came to own this in the first place. Drugs? CA sunshine? It must be a good story. K |
| oh, sorry cat, didn't realize this thread was still moving...ahem, thanks carolyn...how's yo mama? Cat, if you want, you shall recieve... I can always trade other stuff with Carolyn anyway...as for a cisch...ack, no! dont' you have some meangingless small tropical? kevin, it's called obsessive compulsive disorder attack while at HD. I've seen been treated. how many hundreds of dollars later. bada |
| Hi bada - meaningless small tropical? how about a durian tree??? i'm just kidding... lol... you know by asking me that question, you've forced me to admit that I do not have much (not yet, that is) in my collection? But I truly appreciate your agreement to trade. I will put on my "thinking cap" and will get back to you, although I know it's going to be a challenge for me, since it seems that you've owned most of the tropical plants already! cat80 |
| bada- She's very well, thank you for asking. carolyn |

| Mine's also doing pretty well...even though you didn't ask. |
| Is this still avalible, I see no one really wants it, but I am new to this and just want to have a bunch to practise with. Being new I don't have anything to trade, let me know if you want to work something out. |
