Hi there everyone.....This is my first orchid I purchased last April. It has bloomed about 3 or 4 times and now it has 4 new spikes all with buds on them. I have added a picture. I'm just in awe with all the new growth. Is this normal? lol

Great job growing that one. I'd have to say that it is NOT normal to throw 3 or 4 spikes at a time. It's not unheard of but I usually only get 2 spikes at a time and that is after I cut off the old ones. Three or 4 at a time are outstanding.

Thank you for you post! I'm so excited about this. It also has a root growing up top too looks like it's growing a few small leaves too. When it blooms I will post pictures :)

I don't know the name I bought it last year and don't have the name of it any longer....wish I kept it. I wasn't sure I would even be able to keep it alive. I can't wait for it to bloom!! Do I just keep letting it grow?

Normal? No, but then you're not growing an orchid in its normal growing environment so anything could happen. Whatever you're doing, wherever you have it, it is growing very well. I agree, you seem to have two plants here, maybe not two separate plants necessarily but two plant stems and this can double the normal amount of flower "spikes". If a phalaenopsis is grown in the right light and temperature it will continually grow and flower. As long as you have new leaves growing in addition to the flower spikes, there's nothing wrong with this.

Hi everyone....I wanted to post a few new pictures so you can see the growth. I counted about 46 more buds that will be blooming soon. I love watching them open up daily.
