| I have posted a link to a photo of my orchid where you can see the length of the stem (at the 7th node from tip is a little bud growth which I also have zoomed in on in the bottom of the photo, above it I have the bud that's growing fully at the 9th node as well as the small bud), am I supposed to cut the stem at all? Also, will the little bud begin to grow as well? and I also have a pic in the bottom right showing a growth from the leaves, is this just a root or another stem? How do I go about getting the best blooming capability from my orchid possible? thank you. |

| Your phal will put up a new spike in its season, depending on ancestry. That might be spring or fall. But if it's your basic fall, more likely fall. The best thing you can do to promote blooming is to grow it as well as you can. A mature, healthy phals doesn't need special treatment to bloom. It just blooms. Special fertilizers will not promote blooming in a phal that isn't ready. See a discussion of how to bloom phals at this website |
