My dend had a baby!!! When the roots were abouts 2-3" long I cut and planted it. It did very well for a few months and then one day I looked at it, the leaves turned brown and it died. What did I do wrong? I live in Northeast and it is in my home.
Thanks

You are asking the impossible. What sort of Dendrobium is the mother plant? Where do you have it in your home? What are the temperatures there? How big a pot did you use for the baby? etc. etc.

Hi arthurm
Don't know what kind of dend. it is. Got it as a gift that came from Lowes a few years ago, I keep it in the living room with my other orchids near a window and the temp is between 65-68. Pot is about 4" wide.
Thanks for your reply

A four inch pot for a Dendrobium keiki is way too big! You have to simulate how the plant grew in nature....on a rock or on a tree with the roots running over the surface. So you would start off with a tiny pot size and as the plant gets larger gradually pot on to a larger pot size.
