I had pre-ordered a Dracula nycterina form Andy and picked it up on Saturday. From the center of the plant some small, round 1/2' leaves are growing and reaching the edge of the pot. About 8 of these leaves are there, looks like a small weed. Andy told me it's Trichosalpinx chamaelephantes. He had a bunch of these growing in the same area as the Dracula and some developed seed pods which burst. Numerous small plants eventually sprung up. I'm sure he removed them and grew them up but this one originates in the center of the Dracula, no way of getting it out without dividing the Drac.

Fine with me, eventually I'll get a plant out of it. I guess I'll let it motor along until enough is over the edge and a division can be made. I have had this experience once before, also from an Andy plant, just shows you that nature will persist even in the absence of a sterile flasking lab.

Nick.
