I just bought a "Holiday Orchid" from Lowes. That is all it says on the label. I was wondering if it was a Phalaenopsis or could it be a different orchid. Full price it was $9.99.

Sorry about not posting a photo yesterday. I think it is a Phal because the leaves are the same as mine. I am hoping since it is a holiday orchid and clearance that it may be from Christmas so possibly be a red one. If I get it to bloom for me. Tomorrow it is out to by a couple new orchid pots. I have watered and removed the outer pot since it has no drainage holes. The roots system seems really good.

Yes, that's a Phal. They don't come in red, unfortunately. It does look healthy, and could use a repot. Take all of that sphagnum off when you take it out of the pot. It will eventually break down and can rot the roots.

Thank you Arthurm and Eahamel,

I will remove the sphagnum when I repot it.
