I bought this Phal with 2 spikes...one of course it must have been the main one, was in full bloom, but the other spike did not make it at all...Is there some secret to get the benefit of both spikes to bloom? It seems one saps the strength from the other. ..or am i wrong about that?

RE: Phal second spike

When you bring home a plant already in bloom or bud, you chance losing some flowers due to change in environment. I don't think one spike takes from the other. Most Phals, which are grown well will develop two spikes.

This is a 5 yr old Phal which always produces two full spikes with huge flowers.
