Is this a lost cause?

I repotted my orchid a little while ago and upon looking it over tonight, I noticed some of the roots don't look very good. It may be hard tell in the picture, but the roots have a very gray hue to them. I'm very worried that this may be root rot. Can this plant be salvaged?

The short answer is NO. The new leaf looks OK and the roots might have a green tinge if they were just watered. Of course, the plant does not look in optimum condition but it surely will pick up once spring arrives.

Jane, they can be grayish green. When you water them they will turn a brighter green. I think that plant will do just fine, and is far from a lost cause.
