Trying to save orchid with no roots

Hello plant whisperers,

My mum got me this orchid and I would like to save it.

I decided to re-pot because the medium was getting very compacted.

I trimmed off 3 roots around 3 inches long. They were extremely shriveled (but they were still a very dark green/greyish). I am doubting whether I did the right thing...

How can I save this orchid?! I read of some method that placed an orchid in a bag? Not sure

Please help,
Brooklyn

To help you orchid experts, here is the plant when it was in bloom

Maybe this would help you to recognize the species

The plant looks fine to me. Pot it in a small pot, just big enough to fit the roots. Water well and let it drain. Make sure it does not sit in water. Give it a weak fertilizer and bright window, leave it alone. Don't water again until almost dry.

Should be fine and you might get flowers in the winter.

Looks like a little phal. Now that it's out of bloom, it will have more energy for leaves and roots.

Small pot, med-large medium, water seldom, with good light and occasional fertilizer.

They look normal. Just water them and they should turn green. Get the plant in a pot and water it.
