Ludisia cuttings in water...can I pot them up??

Okay, I have some jewel orchid (ludisia) cuttings that I have sitting it a dish of water up in my room. I'm keeping them away from direct sun as advised and I'm trying my best to only keep the bottom of the stem in the water (although it's very hard to prevent them from falling over). Anyways, the reason I didn't just pot them up is because at the time that I received the cuttings, I didn't have the right kind of mix for them. Well, yesterday I went over to home depot and bought a package of orchid potting mix and today I'd like to pot them up in glass cookie jar like container. The idea for this is simple...I can pot them up, and with the humidity provided by the jar, they should root fairly quickly (I also don't have to worry about spills this way). Is this an ideal container setting for an orchid??
