Talking the Talk. You have Dendrobium Berry 'Oda'

It is an Australian Native orchid Hybrid produced with the ancestors being Den. kingianum, canaliculatum and bigibbum and is a so called cold x hot cross.

Will probably flower without needing the degree of cooling down in winter by Den. kingianum. Google Dendrobium Berry and select images to get an idea of what the blooms will be like.

Hi arthurm, great to hear from you. It was your advice (along with Neptune's notes) that helped me to get my Den. kingianum to bloom, so thanks again for that.
The flowers I see on Google are very like den. kingianum, so worth a bit of looking after, I think. I will try to keep this one going.
Do you know if there is an "alba" form, or is mine likely to be purple too?

It is sad that Wilford Neptune is no longer with with us, he helped many orchid growers with his culture notes.
The chances of your orchid being other than purple are small. Dendrobium kingianum tends to dominant when used as a parent. There are alba clones but on the whole they the do not have flower quality of the purple/pink clones.
Similar, comments for Den. bigibbum. i've got about 20 plants and only one of them has white flowers.
