| I snapped these pictures of a plant growing outside at Kawamoto Orchid Nursery in Honolulu. I have no idea what it is. Anyone have any leads? The flowering stems are at least 2 feet long, and the actual flowering racemes are at least 9 inches long, for scale.
The pic is posted on Facebook and I'll set it so anyone can see it. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1805619460788&set=a.18055987002 69.2098981.1248935314&type=1&theater (clickable link below) Thanks! |

| Crud. Let me see if I can post it another way -- thanks for the heads up. If someone could test it, that would be great, because it will let ME look at it no matter what. Thanks again. |

| Heh...nope...it's a login page. You might try using flickr...I highly recommend it. They now have code just like the other sites that makes it very easy to share photos online. For example... |

| I can see the appeal, but I share very few photos and don't want another site to keep track of -- though I do apologize for this rigamarole. I'm going to try to get someone else to post the photos on THEIR Flickr page so I can get this done easier. I used to be able to share off Shutterfly a lot more easily. It's changed. Again, I am sorry about the trouble and appreciate those who are sticking with me. |

| A friend posted them to both Flickr and Photobucket. I am going to post links to both. It might be Dendrobium smilliae from NE Australia or New Guinea. Here is a pic. Common name Bottle Brush orchid. Needs Tropical lowland conditions in cultivation. ![]() |

| Arthur, that looks plausible. I was looking at the whole plant again and the leaf canes look very dendrobium-y. Thanks! |
|
| The "might" was because i was looking at the book Native Orchids of Australia and perhaps there are similar species in SE Asia. Here is the link to the Entry in Jay's species site where there are some more flower photos |

| Looked at a bunch more pictures and I am certain this is a 100% correct ID. Thank you again! |
