Orchids are very beautiful flowers. Are orchids annuals or are they perennials?

They are all perennials (as far as I know).

All tropical orchids are perennials. Some temperate orchids are still perennial but may be deciduous.

I love the orchids I see at garden centers, Lowes, etc. Those are the ones I want to try and grow.

Most orchids in Lowes, HD and even grocery stores are called phalaenopsis. Other types you'll often see are oncidiums and dendrobiums. In my opinion - the types of dendrobiums you'll see for sale are quite difficult to grow without a greenhouse.
