Georgia Tasker will be speaking on the Gardens of Asia on Tuesday, October 9th at 7:30pm at the Gold Coast Orchid Society Meeting, Gwen Margolis Community Center, 1590 NE 123rd Street, North Miami, (305) 687-0860 - Joyce.

Georgia has been an avid orchid grower for many years, winning numerous culture awards. She is the author of three celebrated books on tropical gardening and has been a Pulitzer Prize finalist and a Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford University. Ms. Tasker is currently a writer at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens. She writes for The Tropical Garden magazine, has a blog on gardening on Fairchilds website, and has written 3 handbooks in her on-going series, Gardening With Fairchild. Prior to joining the Garden staff in 2009, she was a garden writer with The Miami Herald.

We are very lucky to have Georgia Tasker present the Gardens of Asia and to discuss the orchids they contain as she has recently spent 6 weeks in Burma, India, Bhutan and Nepal. This program is a not-to-be-missed event as Ms. Tasker is a gifted photographer in addition to being a recognized horticulturalist. You may wish to invite your friends to share this special evening with us.

Also, Gold Coast will host its "Fall Fling" sale of orchid plants. Great plants...Great prices! We don't want to take anything home!!!!! These plants will be priced to sell!!! Species & Hybrids.

There is a Florida Orchid Growers group on Facebook. We welcome all Florida orchid addicts. Check it out and ask to become a member. You should post this there as well.
