They did not give it a clonal name of 'Short Spiker' for nothing lol. Some of the variants can have REALLY short spikes.

Regarding the keikis, hard-cane dendrobiums can grow keikis from pretty much any active node. I have had some dendrobiums where a node could produce one inflorescence and then followed by a keiki later on.

On your second picture, it looks like you have one keiki (middle), one short inflorescence with the open flower and one normal inflorescence on top.
Young inflorescences are sometimes tricky to identify. They look like keikis because they look "fat" but as they mature it becomes clear.

Wow beautiful! i have a noid dend that im cofusesd as to what its doing. at the growth tip it has something like the growth in the second pic between the identifiable spike and bloom. but this info helped me and i now know that time will tell the tale! In hope you are okay with the storm it looks dangerous! please be safe!

update, after Ike, just some minor fence damage. moved my orchid and plumeria inside. my jm's and others stayed under the porch but moved against the wall, everything survived. :)

I love the pastel colors of your blooms! I have a lavendar blue colored one blooming right now. I love the dends, so easy to grow/bloom!
