My first trophy ever!

I've been sending plants to shows for five years now, and this is my first trophy. It is a Dockrillia rigida mounted on cork with two inflorescences. I know, I know- those are a breeze to grow south of here. But here in the North they are fussy. I got third place in the Dendrobium species- other class, and first and trophy in the miniatures class. There is a vase in the background, hardly visible, that came with the ribbon. I'm just beside myself!

Congrats, quite a feat to grow a plant from tropical North Queensland in Zone 5.
Nice ribbon.

Good for you!!! Congrats!!! Winning stuff is such an encouragement. Never won a trophy but I got an HCC and that was such a confidence builder. I think participating in the shows are such great experiences. Being at Michiana, you probably ran into some members from the society I attend, Central Indiana OS. Such great friends!gb

Thanks all. Ginnibug- I am not at Michiana, I'm in Grand Rapids, so I am with Grand Valley O.S. And we had enough people to set up the Michiana show without me- so I've never even been to that one. I just sent the plants with someone else. I will be setting up the next show in Midland for the Saginaw club. Then our next show is our own in January.
