Broken paph spike
| | |
Posted by sanderling (My Page) on Fri, Nov 6, 09 at 0:50
| This evening, my paphiopedilum got bumped and the newly-forming bud got knocked off the just-barely-emerged flower spike. I was much distressed to discover the injury as the orchid is the very first I got, as a birthday gift a few years ago, and I look forward to its re-bloom every year.
Will this bud re-grow or the plant put out a new spike, or will I have to wait until the next baby in the pot reaches mature size and blooms?
Thanks in advance! |

| You will have to wait for new growth to develop and put up a new spike. |

| Thanks - that's disappointing, but about what I figured. Fortunately, it has a few offshoots coming along. |
