Cochleanthes. Can't find much on that particular dend, but the cochlea rhea is small and apparently a prolific bloomer. My kind of plant.

I just looked up these two orchids.Cochleanthes Amazonica is a spices orchid from the cloud forests of So. Am.It likes low light,has no pseudoblubs, likes high humidity and media should stay moist.It's leaves remind me of the leaves on the nuns cap orchid.The spike blooms1 large white flower.It's a beautiful little orchid and will do just fine in my zone 10.The Den Banana Royale is my favorite of the two.It's probably a hybrid with yellow- green or white flowers and a prolific bloomer that smells like lilacs.It's beautiful when in full bloom.

I have, not in bloom, banana royale. It has antenatum in it. I have a few with that bloodline. One has been in bloom since January. The one in the picture is in the same family.

The dendrobium for me, I don't particularly like the flowering characteristics (too close to base, inter-mixed with leaves) of the coch.

Good on ya SM. I had one a year or so into my growing career and killed it outright in less than a month!

Bob, I was going for a variation on that perennial question "what's your favorite orchid". Thought this was more insightful and intriguing.

This is a tough one for me because neither really grab me, but I think he coch. gets my vote due to presence of fragrance.
