Yep definitely an orchid. I think its a cymbidium of some sort.

Thanks for the confirmation, Terpguy. Further 'Googling' suggests that it is Eulophia graminea. It must have come in with some bagged mulch.

Marcia, I might agree with the eulophia part, the bulbs do look similar. But how are you able to ID it so specifically? Do you have any pics of flowers?

After your idea that it might be a cymbidium, I started Googling photos of 'small flowered orchids' and 'Florida' and came across articles like those on the link below. I read that these orchids are appearing in south Florida, often arriving in mulch. I don't have any other orchids, so figured it must be the invasive one--just my luck!

I could be wrong, but I never bought this orchid and have used mulch where it appeared. I'll have to look around my yard and see if I have any others in mulched areas. Don't you love a mystery???
