| Yes, friends!
Would you believe they were still selling them for 12.95 when I saw them today, so I mustered enough courage to ask for a discount and they only offered them to me for 9.99.
So here you go, step by step of what I did and I pray these poor little things make it. I figured it was time for me to atone for my sins, since I once again bought more plants on the weekend. Toni, it's all your fault.lol This is what they are Look at the sick dried out roots. And the salt damage! So I soaked them in very warm water and yes, saw some live roots, although not much. Got my mix ready consisting of fir bark, bark, and hydroton Cut all the dead roots away And potted them up I hope they do ok, what do you think? Will they be ok and have I atoned for my sins? Mike:-)

Mike, They should do Ok, I have 5/6 cattleya off the discount table at Lowes for around 3.50 and I've let them sit in room temp water for a few hours before I pot them up, so far there growing new roots, one has what looks to be a spike I hope, I didn't water them again for all most 2 weeks. Good luck with them and enjoy Bear

Hi I've had rather good luck with that brand except for hurricanes lol I usually prowl the tables and put marks on the pots so when they near the end of the torture period I know what I'm bartering for Can get phals near death for around 3 and they throw in the pot lol. Yous appear to have healthy leaves so think you have a good chance Good luck gary

Bear, it feels good to have success with orchids that could of died, doesn't it? Great job with yours too. Jodik. You have always had confidence in me and I really appreciate that. I hope to someday have penty so I can share a few with you, ones of course easy to grow outside a greenhouse, and I think the above are one of those:-) Gary..I can't imagaine a Hurricane down there, but as for the weather, wowowowow! Your orchids must thrive no matter where you put them. Lucky you!:-) Thanks all! I'll keep you posted. Mike

So Mike, did you get the IDs on these? Does the label list what they are? I got a similar red and yellow flowering Cattleya from the now defunct Haverhill Lowe's for $2, but no flowers yet... Christopher
