RE: What have I got?

Happy , Happy New Years!! ...and it sure will be for me :). The growth turned out to really, really be a Spike!!! lol. Today, I noticed it opening just the tiniest bit, and I have noticed the buds inside for weeks! Will post pics soon, when the flower buds emerge :))

Exciting isn't it?
Be careful not too over water now as these little new spikes rot easily---happened my first year but someone warned me and I watered less when they started after that. Was also told to pull them out of the direct midday sun while the spikes were forming and flowering They have been OK since.

Thanks, it sure is ! I haven't seen these flowers for three years [bought in bloom] Thanks, also for the watering advice :) Don't know a lot about cymbs, and I stuck a very long skewer in the medium, and pulling it out today, it was still slightly cool. Might have to water soon, and I really hope it won't do anything to the budds .
