cockroaches

Haven't seen them since I was a kid, but we've got them now, attracted by the neighbours. How can we get rid of them and is there anything we can spread along the fence to discourage reinfestation. Suggestions appreciated.

RE: cockroaches

Clean with a mild solution of chlorine bleach and water to kill the germs they bring in. We use horse apples cut in pieces and placed in cabinets in the kitchen to repell cockroaches. Mainly keeping all food particles cleaned up will discourage roaches. they just go where they can smell food. If you had neighbors who attracted the roaches and then they moved out, the roaches will migrate enmasse to your house, and then you might want to take extreme measure to get rid of them before they have a population explosion in your panty.

We also have a lot of scorpions that eat the cockroaches. Now I'm not recommending you cultivate scorpions to prevent roaches, but if you have them outside, you shouldn't necessarily kill them since their favorite food is roaches.

Use Boric Acid (also do a Google search on it and roaches and you'll see how it's used).
