Vegetable Water

| I'd like to know if it is beneficial to water houseplants and/or garden plants with water used to cook vegetables with (once it has cooled, of course). I can't see why not, but maybe potato starch or something might go weird. |

The grasshoppers are eating all of the leaves on my chili peppers, cucumbers, eggplants and my potatoes...does anyone have any suggestions?
Can a plant survive if all of its leaves are well, gone? |
