Higher antioxidant concentrations in organically grown crops.

Last year the "British Journal of Nutrition" published a lengthy study which was, I quote, "a systematic literature review and meta-analysis". It showed, among other things that antioxidants were higher in organic produce: phenolic acids 19% higher; flavanones 69%; stilbenes 28 %; flavones 26%; flavanols 50%; and anthocyanins 51% higher. As I understand these things (dimmly) they relate to our body's natural defence system, which is under stress from contemporary environmental assault. We know, for example that bluberry skins are good for us, but we might only have guessed that organic bluberry skins might be so much more better, We need to add this one to our routine list of why organic is better. Regards, Peter.
